Yeah, just another dude who plays the drums. Thought not very often anymore. These days I have fun just playing with friends from the area at community events and lately acting as house drummer at a weekly local mic. It's pretty satisfying and I can fit it in without impacting work or the usual stuff one has to attend to. You know, life. I could talk forever, but since this is one of the first pages of the site I figure I should post some mp3 files with me playing the drums so you can check it out for yourself. I'll attempt to show you a few different styles in the examples but I gotta warn you the recordings are raw so don't expect nice and pretty produced stuff or you'll be disapointed. Franky, I don't like a lot of modern music because in my opinion (1) it's all produced to sound like everbody else that sells to the calculated demographic and (2) with all the amazing technology available the engineers and producers completely kill any chance of dynamics and life where the recording might breathe and feel alive. No thanks, I like my recordings raw...a couple mics in the room usually is all you need. It's not perfect, but it IS real. Anyhoo... Later I'll break projects down into some detail and give you more to check out if you like something in particular, but for now here are a few clips. These are best listened to on your portable mp3 player with decent headphones. They are all LIVE unless otherwise noted. Country Burn that Bridge Neon Moon Rock Good Lovin' Love Light Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad Experimental / Blues (bass drums and harp) Hoochie Koochie Man - 3:00am version, seriously... Chevrolet manic jam - Don't know what this was, I just started with a beat and all heck broke loose. Fusion Enigma Pop Golden Sparrow (this is a studio version) Anyway, that's something to get started and also to see if these tunes upload and download okay. More later. |
